22 Things I Learned at Age 22 They say wisdom comes with age. So now that I'm a year older, I must be a little wiser, right?

I just recently had my 23rd birthday (Christmas baby, yayyyyyy). This last year FLEW by! I never use to believe people when they'd say that time goes by quicker when you get older, but geez Louise they were right. Now I'm another year older, and hopefully a little bit wiser. ;) Year 22 was overall wonderful. I love being in my twenties and finding out who I am as a person, and where this journey of life is leading me! There were so many great things that happened this year that I will always look back on and cherish. Here's just a few: + My little brother, Hunter, got ENGAGED, and I soon get to welcome another amazing sister into the fam! + Went on my very first camping trip to the North Shore of Minnesota with some great gal pals of mine - it was an absolute blast. + Got to experience my brother's Marine Corp. graduation in San Diego, CA. + Went on a fun fam Christmas cruise to the Caribbean & enjoyed great sights & food + Photographed my first wedding EVER. Although 22 was great in SO many ways, it definitely had it's downs as well - some family issues, apartment/house changes, heartbreak, loss of friendships, and death of loved ones. Life isn't always a smooth, straight road. There's always some bumps along the way! But I'm a firm believer that both the good and bad things happen for a reason and can teach us valuable lessons. So without further ado, here's 22 things I've learned this last year:
God is always there even if it doesn't feel like it (Cliche, I know. BUT SO TRUE)
You can only use so much dry shampoo...don't test your limits with it unless you want to look like you have a severe dandruff issue.
New friendships/relationships come when you least expect them, so be ready and willing to put yourself out there!
Along those same lines, meeting new friends through Instagram is SO FUN. It's so cool to be able to connect with someone through social media, that you may not have ever had the opportunity to meet otherwise.
Coffee is acceptable at any hour of the day.
Future sister-in-laws are literally the best - I never expected how much fun it would be to gain another sista!
T-Swifts "22" does in fact get a little old if you play it on repeat all day every day the first week you turn 22. Take my advice and don't overdo it if you would still like to enjoy the song every now and then.
The Keto diet is too hard.
You can never have too many coffee mugs. My mom may tell you otherwise, though, cuz mine are taking up all the space in her cupboards. Sorry mom.
Spend as much time as you can with your grandparents, they won't be here forever.
Stop caring about what everyone else thinks.
Ditch the toxic relationships - ain't nobody got time for that!
Have confidence in who you are as a person and who God created you to be.
God doesn't call us to be perfect, He calls us to be Holy.
Don't read your messages until you are able to reply, otherwise you'll read it and forget to respond. Sorry friends - I promise I'm not ignoring you!!!
Set aside time for yourself every day.
Take lots of pictures of the moments you want to remember.
Stay hydrated. Your body (and especially your skin) will thank you for it.
Take time to learn a new hobby/skill.
Explore your city!
Make a gratitude list of things you are thankful for every night before bed.
Show and give grace to everyone. We all need it!
So there ya go, just a few tid bits of wisdom for your day. Thanks for reading!
